Great part of the PROURB alumni take part in undergraduation programs (as permanent professors), maily those located in Rio de Janeiro (state and city), but also in Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Maranhão, Paraíba, Rondônia, Tocantins plus other countries like Colombia, Bolivia, Mexico, Denmark and Belgium. Some of the alumni hold a responsible position at their universities, as, for example, the pro-rector of “Universidade Estácio de Sá” undergraduation, and other undergraduation schools, as, the Director of the Undergraduarion School of Architecture and Urbanism of Universidade Estadual do Maranhão, the coordination of School of Architecture and Urbanism of PUC-Rio, the Sub-Coordinator of the School of Architecture and Urbanism of Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, the Head of Department – Universidade Estadual do Maranhão and the representation of its School at “Associação Brasileira de Ensino de Arquitetura e Urbanismo” – ABEA. Other alumni hold representative positions in the field of architecture and urbanism, as, for instance, the National Presidency of ” Instituto dos Arquitetos do Brasil” (IAB). Three of our alumni held the position of president of IAB/RJ before. Besides presidency of this body, there is an alumnus/na as vice president of IAB/RJ and three other alumni at the Board of this body. Besides that there are two other alumni holding a directorship position at “Conselho de Arquitetura e Urbanismo” (CAU/RJ).

Furthermore, many alumni hold important positions in the city government and federal agency or in the private sector. We also emphasize the Superintendence “Superintendência Regional do IPHAN”, Caixa Econômica Federal (superintendent), BNDES, superintendence advisors in city and state departments. Many hold professinal positions (technical bachelor level). On a recent public tender procedure promoted by the city, Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro, “Morar Carioca”, concerning the slum reurbanization, there were many graduates, who were part of the teams or even team leaders.

Our alumni, from master and doctoral degrees, teach as effective professors at the following architecture and urbanism schools: UFRJ, UFF, UFES, UFJF, UFV, UFPB, UFSJ, UFBA, PUC-RIO, Instituto Metodista Bennett, UNESA, Centro Universitário Geraldo Di Biase (UGB/Volta Redonda). Some alumni are at foreign universities mainly at: Universidade Católica Leuven (Belgium), Universidade de Aalborg (Denmark), Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juaréz (Mexico), Universidad Mayor de San Simon (Bolivia), and Universidade Piloto de Colômbia, (Colombia). Besides that, there are alumni teaching as visiting professors at UFRJ, UFF, UGF, and UNIPLI and at other schools at State of Rio de Janeiro.

An overwhelming part of these alumni followed the doctoral program, becoming doctors, and the other part is studying at the doctoral program, great part of them studying at our graduate program.
